Ken Caryl gets through the flats if they do not. Sitting up against the hogback, these lots catch downslope wind that funnels through the valley, hold snow in shaded pockets long after it has gone from Littleton, and sit on ground that is rocky where it is not clay. A Denver patio contractor who has only worked the grid streets east of Wadsworth will underestimate all three.
The Parts of Ken Caryl We Cover
Denver Patio Masters works across the Valley, the Plains, and the North Ranch, and the three could not be less alike to build on. Denver Patio Masters treats them as separate propositions. Valley lots are the steep ones, tucked into the hogback with grade changes that dictate the design before anyone has picked a material. Plains lots are flatter and more conventional but still on the same expansive soils. North Ranch sits somewhere between. What works on one will not necessarily transfer to another.
Hardscape for Sloped and Rocky Lots in the Area
Grade is the governing factor on most Ken Caryl projects. You cannot put a level patio on a sloped lot without holding the ground back first, which is why retaining walls Ken Caryl works on usually come before anything else in the sequence. That means a proper look at drainage and soil conditions as part of design, not a wall thrown up and hoped for. Water moving down a slope has to go somewhere, and a wall built without drainage behind it becomes a wall leaning forward within a few seasons.
What Sets Our Crews Apart Here
Sequencing, mostly. Retaining work, then grading, then utilities for any fire feature or kitchen, then the finished surface. One team carries all of it, so nobody is waiting on another trade to release the site. Ken Caryl Ranch runs the master association architectural review, and we prepare and submit that packet rather than handing it back to you. Every completed project carries a lifetime warranty, and financing with 0% interest options is available through SVC Finance subject to credit approval.
Getting Started
A free in-home consultation, where we walk the slope, look at where water currently runs, and talk about how you want to use the ground once it is level. You get a design and an itemized estimate, and if it works, we schedule the build. Foothills projects reward planning, because the retaining and grading work is the part you cannot easily revisit later.
About Ken Caryl
Ken Caryl sits in Jefferson County against the hogback, west of C-470, with Ken Caryl Ranch divided between the Valley on the far side of the ridge and the Plains to the east. Deer Creek Canyon and the open space around it are close enough that wildlife in the yard is routine. Homes here were bought for the setting, and outdoor living is most of the reason people put up with the commute. Building on it just takes more groundwork than a flat suburban lot does.
Where We Work From
Our base is 8200 S Quebec St, Suite A3703, in Centennial. Ken Caryl is a real drive from there across C-470, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. It is well inside the area we work, and we have crews out this way regularly, but we schedule foothills projects in blocks rather than scattering single days across a month. That keeps the build continuous once it starts, which is better for you than a crew appearing twice a week for six weeks.
While the Ground Is Open
Trenching for a gas line is cheap while the excavation is already dug and expensive once a patio is sitting on top of it. If an outdoor kitchen is anywhere in your five-year thinking, it is worth running the utilities now even if the appliances come later.
Book a free in-home design consultation, and we will assess the slope and the drainage before talking about what goes on top.
